Search Engine Optimization - Part 1

So, you have a blog and you'd like to make sure it makes it on to the search engine listings? Well, you'd be EXACTLY where I am right now!

I've had this blog up and running for about 20 minutes, and I'm looking for ways to increase the likelihood that my content will get seen. In general, this is accomplished by Search Engine Optimization (SEO). I've been doing a little research through Google, and I've found a plug-in for the Firefox browser that I think will get me off to a good start. SEO for Firefox is part of a suite of tools from SEO Tools (http://tools.seobook.com/). You can download this plug-in and it will install right into your Firefox browser.

By right clicking on a given web page, you'll be able to see 'SEO for Firefox' options that you can use to explore a page. This is of course valuable feedback for your own blog page, providing you with information regarding how your content might be perceived by search engine algorithms. Now, this is not to say that you'll be told what to do to increase your odds of scoring highly in the search rankings, but the feedback should help you to objectively discover where your content is weighted. At the moment, I have yet to fully explore this SEO Tools product, but I am hoping that I'll have some results to report in the near future!

Intro

Hi all,

I am creating this blog to do a number of things:

1) test setups - ie AdSense and other gizmos on blogger
2) to start documenting the things I learn for you to use as well

I am (hopefully) keeping this blog private for now, and I am hoping that we can all learn together...

Update you all soon!
